If you notice a leak, protect your valuables from any additional damage.
Inspect your roof for storm damage from the ground level (safety first).
If shingles are missing, hire a qualified roofing contractor to replace them, ensuring your roof can effectively shed water while you consider a potential full roof replacement.
If you don’t have missing shingles but suspect damage, you have time to arrange for proper repairs. Don’t feel rushed to fix it immediately.
Damage may not always be visible on the top of the shingles; it’s essential to check the underside for signs of hail damage. Hire a qualified professional to assess any possible damage.
Ensure your roof’s drainage system (gutters and downspouts) is free of debris and effectively directs water away from your home.
Address any damage to siding or windows promptly to prevent water intrusion.
Be cautious of pressure from door-to-door salespeople claiming to be “working in the area.”

Once the work is finished, have your roof inspected by an independent inspector accepted by ARCA or AARA.
Removal of the old roofing material and repair/replacement of any damaged sheathing as needed.
